IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martin Lee
Hudson
May 8, 1951 – August 11, 2024
Martin Lee Hudson, 73, of Stow, Ohio went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 11, 2024. He chose to become a Christian when he was seven years old and lived the rest of his life in that light. A man of integrity and unselfishness, he was a faithful husband, father, friend, brother, son, and employee.
Martin was born at Pontiac, Michigan to Marshal Wyatt and Bettie Lou (nee: Good) Hudson on May 8, 1951. He went to high school at Waterford Kettering and graduated in 1969. He went on to earn a bachelor's and master's degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University. Martin worked as an engineer and manager for Motor Wheel from 1975-1985 in Lansing, Michigan. In 1985 he moved to the Akron area and worked as an engineer and IT manager for Goodyear until his retirement in 2017, being one of the first people in the world to apply computer aided design (CAD) to wheels and tires. He enjoyed helping others and thinking of solutions to problems, giving his time selflessly throughout his life. After retirement he volunteered as a handyman at Camp Carl, a Christian organization dedicated to developing young leaders and spreading the love of Christ to the next generation. He was an active member of his church, The Chapel, serving in many capacities including usher, Sunday school teacher, and Boys Brigade leader.
Martin is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sue Hudson (Harnisch) of Stow, Ohio. They enjoyed forty-five years of marriage and served each other and the Lord faithfully. Martin leaves behind his children Nathan (Robin) Hudson, Andrew (Kendall) Hudson, Elizabeth "Lizz" Hudson, and Stephen (Beth) Hudson, his sisters Margaret (Allan) Leeke and Charlotte (Stephen) Byrd, and ten grandchildren.
Martin's family will receive friends Friday August 16, from 4 to 7 pm in the Dunn Quigley Funeral Home 3333 Kent Rd Stow, OH. Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday August 17, in Redemption Chapel 3900 Kent Rd Stow OH, with committal to follow in Silver Springs Cemetery Stow, OH.
Martin's lifelong wish was to make his savior Jesus known through his actions and words, and he was looking forward to being welcomed into paradise. He hopes to see each of you there too one day.
The family is requesting memorial donations be made to Camp Carl, dedicated to developing young Christian leaders, 8054 Calvin Road Ravenna, Ohio 44266. Please note "In memory of Martin Hudson".
