Heaven welcomed a beautiful angel as Martha Elizabeth Guld peacefully passed away after a short, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Martha was born in Vienna, Austria, on October 11, 1946, to Joseph and Mary Rickert who preceded her in death. She immigrated to the United States in 1951, where she would build a life full of love, faith, and service.
Martha's deep faith was her guiding light, providing her with the peace and acceptance to face her journey with grace. She was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma, sharing 56 years of marriage with her husband, Frank Guld. Her love knew no bounds, and her patience was endless. She and Frank were blessed with four children, Lisa Haught (Kevin), Robert (Angie), Mike (Jenni), Tony (Kristin) and eleven grandchildren Jessica Parke (Bailey), Tanner, Cameron, Samantha, Noah, Alayna, Claire, Jacob, Abby, Nathanial, and Emily all who survive her. Each of these individuals is a testament to the love and nurturing Martha provided throughout her life. Martha is also survived by her brother Rudy (Anna) Rickert.
Martha found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from cooking and baking to tending to her garden and embracing the beauty of nature. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending cherished moments with her family.
Throughout her life, Martha was actively involved in the German Family Society, where she made lasting contributions. From her involvement in the youth group to teaching German classes and cooking for club events and weddings as part of the women's group, Martha's dedication and warmth touched the lives of many.
Professionally, Martha served as a Title One Reading teacher in the Akron Public Schools, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless students with her passion for education and nurturing spirit.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, from 4-7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 11, 10 am, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 1905 Prtage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield.
In lieu of flowers, Martha's family kindly requests donations to be made to St. Jude's or Project Purple, honoring Martha's legacy of love and service.
Martha Elizabeth Guld will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
May she rest in eternal peace.
