Marlene Margaret (Long) Garrett

Marlene (Long) Garrett, 88, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Altercare of Hartville with her family by her side.
She was born in Hamilton, Ohio and was a resident of Akron for the majority of her life. Marlene was a homemaker and took care of her family. She formerly attended St. Paul Catholic Church. She loved animals and was a supporter of the SPCA. She also loved flowers and the Cleveland Guardians. She never missed a game.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ida Long; husband, Vernon in 2000; and son, Gregory in 2010. She is survived by her children, Todd, Brian and Michelle; her devoted granddaughter, Paige; along with 12 other grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Committal of Ashes will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to One of a Kind Pet Rescue, 1929 W. Market St. Akron, Ohio 44313.
