Marlene Joyce Frisone

Marlene Joyce (Cappo) Frisone, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away February 18, 2016 at the age of 76.
Born January 9, 1940 in Blairsville, Pennsylvania to Benjamin and Fern Cappo, she was a long time Akron area resident. Marlene graduated from Garfield High School and attended the University of Akron. She married her high school sweetheart, Anthony Frisone in 1961 and they enjoyed 54 wonderful years. Together they raised three sons, Mark, David and Brian. She retired after 33 years as an accountant and office manager. Marlene was the matriarch of a large, loving Italian family and a phenomenal cook and baker. As the oldest of eight siblings, she was a dedicated and caring sister. Family was first and foremost to Marlene.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Tony; sons Mark (Jean), David (Geri Ann), Brian (Laura); grandchildren Angelo, Anthony (Kaylee), Guiseppe, Gina, Maria, Dominic, Sophia, Mario, Rocco, Olivia, Giovanna; great granddaughter, Serafina; brothers Benny, Randy, Craig (Emily) and Jeff Cappo; sisters Bettelou Cappo, Cheryl (Greg) Roarty and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Fern Cappo; in-laws Dan and Antoinette Frisone; brother Ronald Cappo, granddaughter Francesca Frisone; nephew Ryan Roarty and sisters-in-law Elizabeth Cappo, Julie Cappo and Judy Cappo.
She bravely fought cancer with grace and dignity to stay with her family, but God ended her suffering and called her home. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St., Akron, Ohio. Funeral services begin on Wednesday at the funeral home at 10:00 am, followed by Mass of the Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd. in Green, OH. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
