Marjorie Martha Delmedico

Marjorie M. (Lontchar) DelMedico, 89, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at her home.
Marjorie was born October 27, 1925 to Theodore and Anna (Kopka) Lontchar in Akron and had been an Akron area resident her entire life. She was a member of St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Vincent; sons R.J. (Susan Lange) and Theodore (Jennifer Sharpless); and grandchildren Vincent DelMedico and Kaitlyn Adkins. She was preceded in death by her infant son Michael (1947) and her daughter-in-law Lynn (Johnson) (1997). Coming from a family of 14 siblings, she had a wonderful loving relationship with her many nieces and nephews.
She was wonderful and caring and would often help others without being asked. She developed her own recipe for an amazing nut torte that was anticipated and appreciated by her extended family for over 50 years, and she was known for the assortment of Serbian cookies and foods that she prepared for special occasions, preserving and passing down numerous family recipes. After raising her own sons, she took great pride in caring for and helping to raise her Grandson to adulthood.
The family will receive friends Monday September 7 from 5 to 8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron where a Parastas Service will be held Monday at 7:30 pm. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
