Marion A. (Barton) Montabone

Marion A. Montabone nee Barton, 96, died on Monday, June 2, 2025 peacefully in her sleep.

Marion was born in Akron on February 7, 1929 and was a lifelong area resident. She was an active member of St. Paul parish and participated in Silver Sneakers at the Firestone Park YMCA for 30 years.

Marion was preceded in death by her partner Robert Montabone and daughter Peggy. She is survived by her children Ray Lewis, Nancy (John) Fox, Bob (Pat) Montabone, Michael (Lisa) Montabone, and Mary (Mark) Marotta; son-in-law Robert Jacob; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sisters Minnie & Margaret.

The family will recieve friends Friday, June 6, from 6-8PM at the Anthony Funeral Home-Akron Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, June 7 at St. Paul Parish, 1580 Brown St, Akron OH 44301. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Society via the church.
