Marion L. Gid

Marion L. (Penny) Gid, 80, fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
She was born in Akron and retired from the Akron Beacon Journal as a district manager. She was a graduate of Kent State University and a member of Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Hilliard E. and Marion C. Harrison; and sister, Debra Jean Harrison. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert L. Gid; brother and sister-in-law, Jonathan and Carol Harrison; brother-in-law, Ronald P. Gid; and nephew, Benjamin Gid.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd. Fairlawn, Ohio 44333 where Marion will lie in state and friends may call one hour prior to service. Very Rev. Dr. Ian G. Pac-Urar officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park in Akron.
