Marilyn Kay (Mcvan) Hardman

Marilyn K. Hardman, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Marilyn was born in Akron to the late James and Marilyn D. McVan. She met the love of her life, Michael Hardman, while a student at East High School and they were married for over 51 years. Although Marilyn worked for the Wicker Co. and Summit Management Services, her true life's work was in caring for her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Michael; son James; brother James; and sister-in-law Mena McVan. She is survived by her sons Jerry (Kara) Hardman, Dan (Patti) Hardman and Jon (Trisha) Hardman; grandchildren Hannah, Andrew, Elizabeth, Jenna, Joseph, Alyssa, Bryce, Leah, Cam, Emma, Savannah and Gabriella; brother Tom McVan; sister-in-law Pat McVan; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the warm and compassionate staff of The Village of St. Edwards Memory Care Unit- Fairlawn, as well as their NEO Hospice team who treated Marilyn as their own. Special thanks to Senior Helpers of Northeast Ohio for their continuous support of the Hardman Family.

Family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 10am-11am at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S Main St in Akron, where funeral services will be held at 11am. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memory Care Unit at The Village of St. Edward, 3131 Smith Road, Fairlawn, OH 44333.
