Marie Antoinette Bernert

Marie A. 'Aunt Dolly' Bernert, 94, departed this life in the afternoon of February 3, 2024, due to complications of a Stroke.
Marie was born in Akron on June 24, 1929 to the late Nickolas & Clara Bernert and was a graduate of South High School. Marie was a graduate of Great Lakes College with a degree in Massotherapy. She worked as a research assistant for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for over 33 years, retiring in 1991. Marie was a longtime member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Norton, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and lector and was a member of the Altar Guild. She was also devoted to Eucharistic Adoration. Marie was an accomplished bowler and golfer. She loved cats and dogs and had many throughout her life. Marie was full of life and always enjoyed being and talking with others.
Marie is survived by her beloved best friend and caregiver Georgia Bish, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, & great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her 8 siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 8, at 11:00 am at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church 4022 Johnson Road in Norton. The family will receive friends at a reception following the Mass. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
