In Loving Memory of Maria Murawski

Maria B. Murawski, 72, of Coventry Township, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 11, 2026, in a tragic accident following services at her beloved parish, St. Francis de Sales Church.

A native of Poland and former LOT Polish Airlines flight attendant, Maria's American dream began when she fell in love with her future husband, Edward Murawski. They married in 1979, and with grit and devotion, built a beautiful life in Akron centered on faith, family, and hard work.

After losing her beloved Edward in 2023, Maria showed incredible resilience. In recent times, she was embracing a new chapter of independence and found immense joy and pride in her granddaughters.

Her legacy of love is carried on by her only daughter, Michelle (Donald) Chatman, and her cherished granddaughters, Arianna and Aubriella. She is also survived by her sister, Anka (Jurek) Justek, and cousin, Lucynka Michalczak, in Poland. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents Stanislawa and Edward Fraszczyk, and brothers Zbyszek and Wiesiu Fraszczyk.

Maria's warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith left a lasting mark on all who knew her. She is forever revered for her everlasting devotion to husband Edward, and the amazing supportive friend she was to Pani Ela and Peggy through all their struggles and tribulations. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and the St. Francis de Sales community.

Calling hours will be held Friday, January 23 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Anthony Funeral Home- Akron Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, January 24 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis de Sales Church, 4019 Manchester Rd. in Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. 

The family asks that any photos of Maria could be shared to create an everlasting memory book of Maria.
