M. Ann Blackert

M. Ann Blackert, 80, passed away March 22, 2026 following a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born November 8, 1945 in Copley to Raymond and Margaret Bronco. She attended Copley High School. Ann began her career as a bus driver for Coventry Schools and retired from Metro Regional Transit Authority. Ann enjoyed gardening and sewing, even winning awards for her beautiful yard! She had hundreds of houseplants that she cared for. Ann loved her animals, as well as Barberton fried chicken, hot sauce, and Coca Cola! Ann was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception. She loved bowling and watching crime shows, and was always up on her current events. She also loved watching the Cleveland Indians.

In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her husband Edward, son Vince, infant sons Kenneth and Mark, sister Gwendolyn Gilreath and infant sister Rebecca. She is survived by her daughters Laurie (William) Harris, Janice (Dwayne) Tepus, Jennie (James) Cadwell, and Amy Brumfield (Scott) Troyer; grandchildren Ashley, Adam, Andrea, Rebekah, Joel, Haley, Vince Jr., Carolyn, Samuel, Zachary, Nathan, James, Jazmin, and Jared; several great-grandchildren; brother Michael (Marie) Bronco; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, stepchildren Jason, Josh, and Sarah (deceased).

Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, March 25 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd. in Akron. Friends will be received for one hour prior to mass beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
