Mabel E. Wilhelm, 94, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017.
Mabel was born January 24, 1923 in Akron to the late Earl & Susan Green. She graduated from Coventry High School and attended the Barberton School of Commerce. Mabel married Donald Wilhelm Jr. on June 14, 1941. She worked at Firestone and seven Air Force bases during the war and retired from Ohio Machine & Mold. Mabel was a member of the McDonaldsville Methodist Church and the Willowdale Country Club.
In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband Don; son Dan and brothers Gordon and Paul. She is survived by children Terree Lasko (Earl), Rusty (Barb), Ken (Miki) and Sue Corrigan (Chris); daughter-in-law Lee Wilhelm; nephew Tom Green and niece Gail Goggins; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 20 from 11AM-1:00PM at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. (corner of Steese and Massillon Rd. - entrance off of Steese Rd). Funeral services will begin at 1PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McDonaldsville Methodist Church, 7641 Wales Road NW North Canton, Ohio 44720; or to Haven of Rest, 175 East Market Street, Akron, OH 44308; or to Visiting Angels of Canton, 5880 Fulton Dr NW, Canton, OH 44718.
