Lura Laverne Schenk

Lura Laverne Schenk, 75, passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2018. Born in Glencoe, OH on July 23, 1942 to the late Jesse & Lura Clayton, Lura had been an Akron resident for nearly 60 years. She had worked for both Weight Watchers and Advertising Ideas Company.
In addition to her parents, Lura was preceded in death by her husband John Thomas Schenk, Jr. in 1996; sister Norma Jean. She is survived by her children Tom (Kim) & Tina (Paul); grandchildren Melanie, Christian, Arianna, Taylor, & Devon, and a sister Wanda.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 am to 1pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral service will take place immediately following at 1pm. Fr. Frank Basa Officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
