Lucija (Basic) Strebick

Lucija "Lou" Strebick, 96, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024.
She was born in Croatia and was a long time cook at the New Era Restaurant known as the "strudel lady" and for her home-style cooking.
Lucija was preceded in death by her parents, Josip and Marija Basic; husband, Steve; brother, Pere; and sisters, Seika and Ika. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Milos "Mitch" Lekic; sister, Stajka Jurjevic; grandchildren, Lucija (Bane) Berbakov, Rade, Steven and Danilo Lekic; great-grandson, Oliver Berbakov; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Norm Douglas officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron.
