Lorraine Ruth Miller

Lorraine Miller, 74 passed peacefully from this world on August 25th in the company of those who loved her. Lorraine's smile, twinkling eyes, laughter and outgoing spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Lorraine started as a teacher in Akron public chool system before she found a home at St. Francis De Sales where she taught for 35 years. She helped shaped the lives of many students she came in contact with. Her dedication to the students can be seen by the number who have stayed in contact through adulthood. In Lorraine's home,the dinner table always had room for one more or room for a surprise overnight guest. Her joys were shared in travels with friends & family, weekly luncheons with girlfriends, and family dinners. Most of all she went out of her way to make everyone happy and welcomed.
Lorraine joins her brothers Frank and Bill Szymanski.  She is survived by the love of her life and husband Ed Miller, Sons: Ed(Marie Grillo) Miller, Jr., Jeff(Tonya Wood) Miller; Grandchildren: Steven, Cassie, Lauren, Celena (Wood), Sisters Rosemary Murphy and Shirley Litzinger.
Visitation will take place Thursday, August 30 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz chapel.1990 S. Main Street, Akron Oh. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 31 at 11am at St. Francis De Sales Church 4019 Manchester Rd.  She will be laid to rest among family at the Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
