Lorraine Lillian (Cross) Livingston

September 21, 1953 — August 20, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Lorraine Lillian Livingston (Cross) announces her passing on August 20, 2025, at the age of 71. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Lorraine was born in Sarnia, Ontario, to Arthur and Margaret Cross. She grew up with five siblings and maintained strong family connections throughout her life. Her career began at Kent State University and later with Kelly Insurance Agency, but she found her true vocation serving as parish secretary at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where she worked faithfully for more than twenty years. At IHM, she was not only a dedicated worker but a steady and compassionate presence, also volunteering as a mother monitor while her children attended the school.

Lorraine's life was filled with simple joys that became lasting traditions. Her lasagna, beef shish kabobs & rice, and roast with Yorkshire pudding turned family dinners into celebrations. At Christmas time, her cutout cookies and homemade fudge filled the house with sweetness, creating treasured memories. She loved the outdoors, especially evenings by a bonfire or weekends at the lake, and time spent together in a cabin, where laughter and stories filled the air. Lorraine also enjoyed travelling to Canada for short trips to visit family and expose her children to new experiences.

Lorraine never met a 'stranger' as people quickly became extended family. Thanks to her quick wit and matching sarcasm, she had the unique ability to bring a crowd to their knees in laughter. She had a colossal sense of humor.

Through all life's ups and downs, Lorraine held close to her faith. Her favorite words, "Let go, let God," were not just a saying but a way she tried to live, offering strength to herself and comfort to others. To her children growing up, she was the foundation of faith, comfort, security, laughter, and love.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Maggie; her brother, Edward "Ted" Cross; and her sisters, Diane Gronek and Lynda Williamson. She is survived by her husband, Jeff; her children, Rich Casto (Beth) and Sarah DeVenture (Casto); her grandchildren, Richy, Eva, Lily, Enzo, and Clay; and her siblings, Janet Leppert (Dale) and Greg Cross (Dawn).

Lorraine's memory will be forever cherished by her family, and the many friends she made along the way.

A Celebration of Lorraine's life will take place on Thursday, August 28, 6 pm, with the family receiving friends for one hour prior, at the Anthony Funeral Home - Falls Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. in Cuyahoga Falls.
