Lope Clarabal Estonina, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Lope was born in Bohol, Philippines on September 25,1940 to Tomas and Priscilla (Clarabal) Estonina. He received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Adamson University and later immigrated to the United States in 1970. He had a long-time career working in material research at Ferro Corporation in Independence, Ohio retiring in 2005.
A resident of Cuyahoga Falls since 1977, Lope was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for 47 years. Family and faith were top priorities for Lope which he valued until his last day. Lope devoted his life to his family and later his grandchildren. He never missed a school or sporting event, a parents/grandparent's event, or any other opportunity to support his children and grandchildren. Being promoted to Lolo to his 3 Apo was one of his greatest accomplishments in life and brought him absolute joy every day.
Lope was known for his kindness and generosity. A man of few words, it was his calm presence, gentle smile, and the twinkle in his eyes that made you feel at ease when around him.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents and sister Felisa Londonio. Lope is survived and will be missed dearly by wife of 49 years, Beberlita; his daughters Lisa (Kevin) Kavali and Vanessa (Eric) Yeutter; three grandchildren Colton Kavali, Coralena Kavali, and Wyatt Yeutter; siblings Nenin Villarubia, Fortunato (Narcie), Titang (Carlos) Simbulas, Sr. Bernadette, and Benito (Felisa); in-laws Alicia (Hilarion) Orate; Pruticia (Arthur) Lirios; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 6, 11am, with friends being received beginning at 10am, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Cuyahoga Falls. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Lope's memory to IHM Church.
