Linda Diane Lowe-Baker (née Bell), 60 - a lifetime resident of Akron, Ohio and recent resident of South Chesterfield, Virginia - passed away into the loving arms of the Lord on February 2nd, 2023 at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia following complications arising from an extended stay in the Cardiac ICU for open-heart surgery.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rosey Irene Bell (née Ihász) and John Ray Bell, as well as her former husband and lifelong friend, Jack Raymond Lowe, Jr. She is survived by her loving twin sons, Scott A. Lowe and Nicholas R. Lowe, her current husband, Charles William Baker, Jr. of Virginia, her sister, Shirley C. Strader, her brothers, David, Ron, and Kene, as well as a wealth of extended family members and friends.
Linda was born in Akron, Ohio and spent her formative years growing up in the city of Tallmadge, graduating from Tallmadge High School and earning an Associate of Applied Sciences degree from Southern Ohio College. After graduating, she married her first love and settled down in the Goodyear Heights neighborhood, beginning an extensive career as a Foundation Specialist and Administrative Assistant at Summa Health Systems - the fruits of which occupations enabled her to support and raise her sons. During her life, she was known by many for her kindness, humility, and philanthropy - possessing a servant's heart and endeavoring to see the best in all whom she met. Her character was predominantly guided by her faith; later in her life, she became an active member of Stow Presbyterian Church and their Celebrate Recovery group. During her free time - aside from cherishing life with her sons and close family - she enjoyed reading, giving boundless affection to her pet cats, and dreaming of spending time at the beach. Within the most recent years of her life, she met her second love, was baptized alongside him, and remarried - later moving to Virginia to participate in the joys of her new marriage. During her residency in Virginia, she began a new career as a Patient Intake Coordinator for Bon Secours Hospice and became an active member of The Heights Baptist Church.
Linda's funeral service and visiting hours will take place at Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Chapel (1990 S. Main Street, Akron, Ohio, 44301). In lieu of or in addition to flowers, her family asks for donations to be made out to Scott and Nick Lowe to help cover her funeral expenses.
