Linda (Johnson) Barden

Linda Marie Barden (nee Johnson), 70, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at Cleveland Clinic after a lengthy illness.

Linda was born June 28, 1949 in Akron to Robert and Myrtle (Arndt) Johnson and had been an area resident her entire life. She was a 1967 graduate of Garfield High School and was hired by the Department of Vital Statistics for the City of Akron. She retired as the Chief Registrar with thirty years of service in 1997.

Linda enjoyed golfing and painting by numbers.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her son Shawn Barden; sisters and brothers-in-law Pat and John Vance, Dorothy and Don Lauer and Barb and Robert Zeh; and her ex-husband Bruce Barden.

Linda requested to be cremated. No services are scheduled at this time and a memorial service will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cleveland Clinic or a charity of your choice.
