Lillian Podrosky

Lillian (Karras) Podrosky, age 85, died on Saturday, May 18, 2013, following complications due to an extended illness.
She leaves behind and is dearly missed by her daughter, Patricia (Clark) Podrosky Gallagher; grandchildren, April Gallagher (Jeff) Myers, Robert Michael Gallagher; great grandson, Liam Myers, brother Edward J. Karras (Toby); sister & brother-in-law Madalyn & Richard Grill, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by husband Michael Podrosky, sons Michael Podrosky & Edward Michael Podrosky; parents George and Julia Karras; sisters Anna K (Albert) Nervo, and Julia (Robert) Goldsmith.
Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, to Julia and George Karras, she graduated from East High School and went to work as a secretary in the Chemical Division of Goodyear. She later worked for Ohio Edison, Akron Public Schools, and the University of Akron. Also a devoted wife and mother, she spent numerous years as a homemaker. Lillian enjoyed playing cards and attending card parties with friends. She especially enjoyed the family camping trips and was an avid reader, cook, and gardener.
Special thanks to the nurses and care givers at the Gardens of Western Reserve in Streetsboro and the hospice workers for their excellent care throughout her stay. We are forever indebted to you all.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 5-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a wake service will take place at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Fr. Jonathan Zingales on Thursday, 10:00 am, at Visitation of Mary Catholic Church, 87 Broad St. in Akron. PROCESSION WILL FORM AT THE CHURCH. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
