Leonard Martin Borden

Leonard Martin Borden, 73, of Akron slipped into eternity between February 18 and 19, 2024 after having just spent time with his loving family.
He was predeceased by his parents Martin and Ethelreda Borden; and sisters Kaye Owen and Barbara Faris. He leaves behind sisters Eileen Borden and Gloria Beal; brother-in-law Charles A. Beal; nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
Leonard graduated from Kenmore High School in 1969 and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He retired from the United States Postal Service after working as a mail processor inside and later outside as a letter carrier.
In his spare time, Leonard loved to build birdhouses for Eastern Bluebirds and find homes for those in rural areas. He also enjoyed keeping a Purple Martin apartment house or two available in his yard. He loved wildlife and gardening, but mostly invested his time in staying in contact with multiple friends and family and checked on them all faithfully. He loved to find and give thoughtful gifts. He has left a great vacancy in our lives. "Until we meet again."
Interment has taken place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, OH. Memorial service to take place Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11 AM at Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church, 2101-17th Street, SW, Akron, OH 44314.
