Lawrence Bohm, 94, passed away on May 6, at the Hospice Care Center in Copley surrounded by family.
Born in Akron on August 18, 1918 to the late Frank & Therezia Bohm, Larry had been a lifetime area resident. He was employed as a machinist for 47 years at Babcock & Wilcox, retiring in 1983. Larry served our country as a member of the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the Barberton Moose Lodge #759. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to bowl.
In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife Virginia and siblings Frank, Matt (Marie), Joe (Eunice), Paul, & Helen Bertison (Al). He is survived by his children Mike Bohm & Star Poling; grandchildren Joe Popio (Laurie), Tracy Popio & Monica (Bob) Cunningham, Nicki (Rob) Guidof, Michael & Chance Bohm, as well as 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing and medical staff at AGMC and friend, Beth Rowe.
A funeral service will take place on Friday at 12:00 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lakewood Cemetery in Akron.
