Lauren Whited (Cagey) 64, of Akron passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on September 18, 2021. Laurie was born on January 28, 1957 to Norman and Beulah Cagey. She was life-long Akron resident, Laurie will be fondly remembered as a strong, hard working person who never complained regardless of what struggles came her way. A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, she always gave all she had for her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman, and brothers, Terry and David. She leaves behind her loving and faithful husband of 41 years, Nicholas Whited; her children, Matthew and Brandy Whited, and grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Beulah, sisters, Melody and Pamela; and brother, Nicholas. Interment services will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 28 promptly at 1:30 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman (see map below) PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE CEMETERY BY 1:15. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.).
