Larry Michael Dukeman

May 8, 1940 — December 1, 2022

Larry Dukeman, 82, formerly of Akron, passed away on December 1, 2022.
Larry was born in Chicago, IL on May 8, 1940 to the late Stephen and Noel Dukeman. He was a 1958 graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School. He started his career with Consolidated Freight. He met his wife Rainalda at Eastern Central Motor Carriers (he was the mail boy) and she was a secretary. They dated 3 years and were married at St. Martha's Catholic Church in Akron, Ohio on May 27, 1961. In 1968 he joined the police force in Akron, Ohio and in 1982 changed careers joining Turner Construction, holding various positions throughout the years, retiring as a Project Supervisor. After 9/11, when all the new homeland security systems were implemented in the airports, Larry oversaw these projects and systems over the entire Southwest territory of the U.S. He retired from Turner Construction Company in 2010 (living in Phoenix AZ) and moved to Flowery Branch, GA to be closer to his family. He loved living in Georgia and being close to 3 of his 6 children, and closer to the 3 children in Ohio where he could drive to visit and foremost, would never have to shovel snow!
Larry was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Flowery Branch, GA. and the St. Vincent de Paul Society where he served as co-president. He worked for the Board of Elections - overseeing and training volunteers within multiple precincts. Larry enjoyed family, friends, and travel. Faith was a very important part of his life, which led to his involvement with Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch and their programs and activities.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his son Scott Dukeman and in-laws John & Rita Beck. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rainalda; his children Stephen (Muffet), Greg, Denise (Brad) Courter, Brian (Tracey) & Kara (Tim) Bradrick; grandchildren Nicole (James), Ashley (Nathan), Emily (Josh), Sarah (Jake), Julia (Derek), Spencer (Brittany), Megan (Taylor), Raychale (Ben), Anna (Nick), John, Joshua, Max (Chloe), & Claire; great-grandchildren Preston, Sean, Brianna, Jacob, Emma, Connor, Finn, Harper, Erin, Noah, Isla, Hudson, & Bennett; brother Tom (aka Uncle BoBo) (Margie) Dukeman and sister Carol (Vince) Piacenti; brother-in-law Tom (Gwendolyn) Seeman & sister-in-law Calandra Beck; aunt Betty (Wilbur) Glass, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
