Khampheuy Amphonechit

Khampheuy Amphonechit, age 66, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2017 after a prolonging fight against cancer at Akron General Hospice Care Center. Khampheuy was born in Luang Prabang, Laos on January 2, 1951. Among 11 brothers and sisters, Khampheuy was the oldest son of the late Sook and Thongdy Amphonechit. He had many proud achievements including being a veteran of the Royal Lao Army Forces (1969-1974) and Vice President of the Akron Laos Community. An American refugee in 1988, he settled in Chester, Pennsylvania with his wife and daughter and then moved to Akron, Ohio. Khampheuy was always a hard worker and enjoyed tending to his yard. He loved taking photos and videos, jet skiing, spending time with family, and watching his granddaughter play. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 37 years, Chanthamone; children Pam and Tuny; granddaughter Alyssa; also many extended family members and the Akron Laos community. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017, 12 p.m., at Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 South Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301.
