Kenneth Slabaugh went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 31, 2015. He was born in Akron to Fred and Dorothy Slabaugh on Sept. 14, 1956. Ken had served in the Ohio National Guard, 3rd Battalion 145th Infantry. He worked as a cab driver in Akron and Columbus until declining health caused him to retire. Preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Madeline, he is survived by brother, Clayton; daughter, Vanessa; sons, Gregory and Christopher; grandchildren, Jonathan and Lauren; step-daughters, Marie, Valerie, and Stephanie; and girl friend, Tamara Al- Sherifi. Very special thanks to Marie Branham for all her love and support to Ken and his family through the last several months. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) where Master Sergeant Bill Pope will conduct a memorial service at Noon. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Haven of Rest.
