IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Irvin
Christner
May 30, 1957 – March 5, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth I Christner, a cherished husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend. Born on May 30, 1957, in Akron, Ohio, Ken lived his life passionately and purposefully in the city he loved. He peacefully departed this world from his home in Akron on March 5, 2025, at the age of 67.
Ken was a skilled carpenter and dedicated maintenance worker at St. Andrew the Apostle, where his commitment to craftsmanship and service shone brightly. His hands sculpted not only wood and structures but also the lives of those around him, leaving a lasting legacy of love and care.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy; his devoted son, Kenny (Brittany); and his loving daughter, Laura. Ken will also be dearly remembered by his grandchildren, Lilly and Kennedy, who brought immense joy to his life. Ken is survived by his brother, William Christner, as well as his brother in laws Ralph (Jackie) Howe, Richard (Ruth) Howe, Robert (Rebecca) Howe, Edward Howe, Donald Howe, Michael (Patricia) Howe, and Victor (Pauline) Howe.
Ken's spirit will forever live on in the memories shared by family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dunn-Quigley funeral home (811 Grant St.) for all who knew and loved him to come together in remembrance and reflection. Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, March 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Norton.
Afterward, Ken will be cremated, and in accordance with his wishes, his ashes will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery.
As we gather to celebrate Ken's life and the warmth he brought to our hearts, we invite all who knew him to share in this farewell, honoring a man whose love extended far beyond the boundaries of family and friendship. Rest in peace, Ken. You will be profoundly missed and eternally remembered.
