Kathleen Ann (Mccahan) Shaw

Kathleen Ann Shaw, 82, of Livonia, MI, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 with her sisters at her side.
Kathy was born in Altoona, PA and was raised in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1960 and graduated from the University of Akron with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She married Dennis Shaw in 1966 and moved to Detroit, Michigan. Kathy began her teaching career at Akron Public Schools for two years and then spent over 30 years at Detroit City Schools. She was a member of St. Kenneth Catholic Church in Livonia. In her spare time, Kathy enjoyed traditional clog dancing, playing bridge and going out with her Red Hat ladies' group.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Edgar & Kathleen McCahan. She is survived by her husband Dennis; sisters Maureen (Russ) Anderson and Jeannine (John) Ross; nieces and nephews Michael, Matthew, Kristen, John, Michelle and Stacy.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, alz.org.
