Kathleen Florence Ashline, 79, went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2026.
Kathy was born in Akron on August 16, 1947 to Thomas and Dolores Doyle. She graduated from Mason Grade School and North High School. Kathy worked at O'Neils in downtown Akron as a dish washer and Jack Horner's restaurant with her sisters. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Kathy loved crafting, especially sewing and knitting. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Richard; brother Pat Doyle; sister Elaine Kulchar; brother-in-law Norman Ashline Jr. Kathy is survived by her son Richard Jr. (Katie); grandchildren Olivia and Cacie Snedeker; sister Rita Lavery; sister-in-law Bernadine Doyle; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and many staff members at The Village of St. Edward's nursing home in Fairlawn, Ohio.
Kathy was known for always having a smile on her face. To those who knew and loved Kathy, it was very evident that she was created to be a living testament of God's grace, uniquely and purposefully made with a divinely pure heart.
Though Kathy was deaf and experienced the world differently than most people, Kathy understood and expressed love in ways that words simply cannot describe. It was very evident to her family that through every season of her life, God carried Kathy in His loving hands, guiding her journey and surrounding her with a grace that could be seen in her innocence, gentleness, and the unconditional love she shared with others. God's presence was always reflected in the beautiful spirit He gave her and the light she brought into the lives of those around her. Kathy's childlike innocence was a precious blessing and a beautiful reminder of the purity and beauty of God's love.
Looking at Kathy felt like witnessing an angel that was purposefully placed here on this Earth-a beautiful, innocent, and angelic presence whose life was a testament to God's divine love for us and whose absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." Matthew 5:8
