Katherine M. Carter was born on August 2, 1943 to her birth mother Dorothy Tanner and was adopted by Dorothy Morgan. She died on May 8, 2022 as a result of a heart condition and complications after surgery. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 25 years, Bruce Allen Carter. She leaves behind Jim Swan, Scott Swan, Skip Bates, and Wesley Bates, along with grandchildren Ashley Swan and Brooke Kennamore. She was raised in Tacoma, Washington and graduated from Ellet High School. She was a career waitress, serving longest at Anthe's and The Ido. She met many friends along the way. In 2000, she and her birth siblings found each other. Meeting them helped answer so many questions for her. She felt very blessed to have known them. The family was glad that her brother, Jerry, was in town this week to visit her.
There will be calling hours Saturday, May 14th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Anthony Funeral Home at 1990 S. Main Street in Akron. In Kathy's honor, please consider adopting a rescue animal or over tipping your next waitress. The family knows each of these things would make her very happy.
