Karen Keifer

Karen Lynn Keifer (Taylor/ Hadley) 78 of Cuyahoga Falls was called home by our Lord and Savior the evening of January 30, 2019. Karen was born May 27, 1940 in Parkersburg, WV to Ralph and Pauline Keifer. She was a 1958 Graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and attended college at Kent State University. She was a lifelong member of the congregation at First Christian Church in Cuyahoga Falls.
In her early years she moved to Washington DC in 1960 and worked for the FBI  as a typist. In 1961 she moved back to Marietta to start her family were she was blessed with 3 beautiful children. She later went back to work in 1972 for Remington Rand where she worked as a data processor until she was later hired by the State Highway Patrol as a Dispatcher 1975.
Karen retired from the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 2008 after a 32 year career as a dispatcher, where she received many prestigious awards for her exemplary work helping others. She served as President of the OSP Union and fought hard for what was right for herself and her peers. She also served on several committees involved in law enforcement for Northeastern Ohio.
She spent her retired years relaxing and enjoying life with her beloved dogs, great grandchildren, family, and friends. She had a passion for music of all kinds and was always on the hunt for the next great book. She was loved and adored by many and will be so dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of her company and friendship.

Karen is preceded in death by her beloved Parents Ralph and Pauline Keifer and Brother Ralph Keifer Jr. She is survived by her Brother Mark Taylor; Son James Brian (Barb) Hadley and Daughters Paula Hadley and Elizabeth (Charles) Marotto; Grandchildren Amy (Justin) Pelfrey, Christina Marotto, Charles Marotto Jr, James Brian Hadley II, and Adam Hadley; Great Grandchildren Matthew Pelfrey, Justin Pelfrey Jr, Isabella Pelfrey, Santino Marotto, Aubrey Hadley, and Bryson Hadley.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 10, from  2-5pm at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid and Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in) Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where a funeral will take place on Monday, at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved Mother.  A full obituary can be found at www.anthonyfh.com (McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, FALLS)
