Judy Lee Ray

Judy L. Ray, 84, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 peacefully at her home in Green. Judy was born to the late Elliot & Leona Reese on October 15, 1937 in Barnesboro, PA and came to Summit County as a young girl. She graduated Cuyahoga Falls High School, making some wonderful lifelong friends while she was there. Judy became a real estate broker and then one of the first female appraisers in the Akron area. She married James R. Ray on June 13, 1959. Together they raised four daughters, taught them the value of education and showed them by example that you can successfully have a career and a family.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Jim; sister Linda Schromm; brother Richard Reese; and grandchildren Leah Piteo and Matthew Finocchio. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law Dr. Susan Ray & Dr. Joseph Finocchio, Carol Ray & Thomas Piteo, Mary Ray & Alan Houser, and Christine & Mark Toscano; brothers Thomas (Carol) & Michael Reese; sister Patricia Parry; grandchildren Sarah Finocchio, Michael (Sarah) Piteo, Mary Elena Piteo, Olivia & James Houser, and Joshua & Sophia Toscano; great-grandchildren Charlotte & Genevieve Piteo, Annalise Finocchio and her mother Brittany Olson; as well as numerous nieces & nephews whom she loved. Special thanks to niece Beth Ray Hahn, whose help allowed Judy to maintain her independence during her final years.
