Judith B Maghes (Sporer) of Stow passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 1, 2025 at the age of 80 after a short illness. Judy was a graduate of Stow High School. Judy exercised her organizational talents and desire to help others as homemaker for many years while her children were young and then worked in several positions including assistant manager at Dairy Mart in Cuyahoga Falls before retiring in 2011 from Briarwood Nursing Home as part of the food service team. Judy was an active member of Holy Family Catholic church and loved to say the rosary before Sunday morning mass with those assembled. Judy devoted many hours to helping others and served as a hospice volunteer at Briarwood Nursing Home alongside her husband until 2020.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Sporer, sisters Nancy Heaton and Joanne Over. Judy will be dearly missed by her husband of 59 years, Charles, her children, Charles (Michelle) Maghes Jr of Columbus, Eric (Amy) Maghes of Stow and James Maghes of Copley; grandchildren, Sarah (Brian) Collins, Megan and Emily Maghes all of Columbus; Annamarie and Lucas Maghes of Stow and numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7 from 3-5 pm, and 6-8pm with the Rosary to be prayed beginning at 7:30 pm in the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home 3333 Kent Road, Stow, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 8 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, Ohio. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 8 at 1 pm at Silver Springs Cemetery, 5080 Stow Road, Stow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a Memorial Mass or donations to Holy Family Catholic Church or Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.
