Josephine G. Zahary

Josephine G. Zahary, 97, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015.
She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was an Akron area resident for over 70 years. She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a current member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Altar Society, Church Choir, Barberton Slovak Choir and the Kenmore Senior Citizens AARP. Mrs. Zahary also did volunteer work at Barberton Manor Care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Louise Banaszak; husband, Peter; and siblings, Leone, Clem and Connie. She is survived by her children, Mary (Dennis) Richards and Mark Zahary; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service prayers will be held Thursday, 9:15 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Barberton. Entombment at Lakewood Cemetery in Akron.
