Joseph Edward Thornburg

Joseph E. Thornburg, 91, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
Joseph was born December 12, 1926 to Jonathan Ralph and Marion (Tagler) Thornburg in Akron and had been an Akron resident until moving to Medina in 1978. He was a member of Holy Martyrs Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the Navy during WWII.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 40 years, Charlotte (Perrine); children Donna (Michael) Stith, Doris (John) Russell, Diane (Donald) Laughlin, Larry (Annie) and Gary (Robin) and Laurie (Frank Vegel) Webster; son-in-law Robert Zedell; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Charlene (Overs) Thornburg; daughter Linda and brother Jim.
The family will receive friends Monday 4 to 7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron OH 44301. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 12:00 pm (Noon) at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 164 W Market Street, Akron, OH 44303. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
