Joseph A Santos age 91, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7th surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio, proudly served in the military during the Korean war and remained in the surrounding area for many years. Joe was a carpenter by trade and the founder of Santos Contemporary Construction. He was the life of the party, a Gentle Giant and had a passion for life. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching the Browns (laughing at his son in laws annual predictions of Browns Super Bowl Glory) and attending the Cuyahoga Falls sporting events in support of his brother Bill. Joe and his wife Janet loved to surround themselves with family and friends at the numerous Christmas Eve parties, Celebrations of the births of their Grandchildren and other gatherings at their home throughout the years. They spent many winters at their Condo in Naples Florida and summers in Raleigh with their daughter Cheryl and her family. Joe was the Patriarch of the Santos family and believed that God and Family came First. He will be greatly missed by all.
Favorite thoughts about Grandpa: Sense of humor, loved to tease, generous, salt of the earth, smart, witty, welcoming, self-made, wise, humble, family man, ambitious, lived life to the fullest.
Those who loved him most are his loving wife, Janet. Daughters and son in laws Cheryl and Frank Andrassy, Cathy and Jim Thompson. Grandchildren Amanda and Gregg Brooks, Joe and Jen Andrassy, Joshua Andrassy and partner Carl Taliaferro, Tiffany and Casey Vickery. Great Grandchildren Caralie and Austin Andrassy, Sophia Vickery, Peyton and Savannah Brooks. Brother and sister-in-law Bill and Pat Santos, Brother-in-law Don Cook and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was proceeded in death by Parents Joseph and Rose Santos, Brother and sister-in-law Frank and Sandy Santos, sister-in- law Trudy Cook.
Calling hours on Friday Dec. 15th from 5 pm to 7 pm at the McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home in Cuyahoga Falls. Funeral Mass on Saturday Dec. 16th at 10:30 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Burial service at Oakwood Cemetery following the Mass.
