John Richard Tittle

John R. Tittle, 92, our beloved father, Papa, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
John was born January 9, 1931, and was a lifetime resident of Green. He attended Greensburg High School, and was a member of the US Army, serving in the Korean War. He retired from the Akron Board of Education in 1996, after many years of service which he enjoyed. He had a heart of gold, was a caring friend to all, and never met a stranger. John enjoyed traveling with Joe Ann, spending time his family and grandchildren. He also loved Ohio sports, his beautiful flowers and could often be found in the local restaurants having coffee and chatting it up with friends, both new and old!
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 55 wonderful years Joe Ann Tittle, his parents, George Sr. and Anna Tittle, his sisters Georgianna, Elizabeth, and Mary Ann, and his brothers Ray, Babe, and Richard. John will be deeply missed by his much loved daughters Renee Tittle-Liles and her son Jimmy Liles IV, and Kerrie Cleaver, her husband Bob and their daughter Abbie Cleaver. John is also survived by many more loving and special family members, in-laws, out-laws, nieces, nephews, and more.
The family is sincerely grateful for the care given to our dad by Nurse Martha and Nurse Kris in the palliative care unit of Summa Akron City Hospital.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 10 to 11AM at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads, entrance off Steese Road). Service follows at 11:00am at the funeral home. Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
