John Nelson Michalak

ohn N. Michalak, 82, passed away surrounded by family on November 22, 2021.
John was born in Canonsburg, PA on January 5, 1939 to the late John and Sophie Michalak. John was a graduate of St. Mary High School and obtained his Bachelor's in Business Administration from Kent State University. He served his country as member of the US Army from 1961 to 1963. He retired after 40 years as plant manager for the Karg Corporation. John was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a member of the Jednota #553. John loved coaching both sons and their friends in youth soccer programs.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers Joe & Franklin. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathi; sons Kevin (Jackie) & Kurt (Tracey); grandchildren Connor, Raelyn, Matthew, Caleb, & Zachary; brother Donald (Brenda).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 30, at 11:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church 1580 Brown St. in Akron, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Masks and social distancing is kindly requested. Inurnment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
