John Allen Spinelli

John A. Spinelli, 66 passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
Born in Akron, he attended St. Martha's grade school, graduated from north High and the University of Akron with a degree in History. He worked at J. C. Penny and then began teaching at the Teenage Parent Center Akron, then taught at Ellet High School before retiring.
He enjoyed coaching his three son's baseball teams and enjoyed many vacations with the family. He loved watching the Indians, Ohio State football and was happy to see the Browns finally winning. He loved listening to Rock N Roll Music and watching old movies, his favorite was Casablanca starring Humphrey Bogart.
He was preceded in death by parents John and Irene Spinelli and brother James.
He is survived by his loving sons John (Vanessa), Ryan (fiancé Shiloh Randall), and Erik (Anna Lescallett); sister, Darla (Roy) Shilts; brothers, Gary (Janie Nottingham) and Tony; granddaughter McKailyn; niece Julie (Morgan) Knox; nephews Roy Jr. (Paige Thompson) and Richard (Cazzi) Shilts.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Hickory Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation for the kindness and great care they gave to John.
A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., Uniontown OH 44685 where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of services. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required. The family understands that not everyone is comfortable attending public gatherings. They appreciate your prayers on that day and the Mass will be livestreamed on the church website at queenofheavenparish.org. In lieu of other remembrances, donations may be made to Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
