Joanne S. (Hooper) Hammond

Joanne S. Hammond, dear mother of Charles R. (Beth) and Steven (Maria) Hammond; grandmother to Samantha, Charles J. and Justin (Allison) Hammond; great-grandmother to Jack, Parker, & Jordan Hammond, and beloved sister to Thomas Hooper left this world to meet her dear Lord and Savior on Friday, September 9, 2022. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Hammond in 2013. She also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved and held dear to her heart. Her family was her greatest joy.
The family wishes to thank Bath Creek Estates Skilled Nursing Facility for the care they provided during her stay. We also thank Dr. Edward Jastremski, Dr. Lauren Lewis and Dr. Rehman of University Hospitals and the University Hospital Hospice Staff for their exceptional treatment of our beloved Joanne.
Joanne loved animals. Miniature horses and dogs were particularly her favorites of which she owned many over the years. She served her community for many years as a dispatcher for Northampton Township, Fairlawn, and the Summit County Sheriff. She also served as a poll worker for the Portage County Board of Elections.
A private committal of ashes will take place at Northampton Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
