Joan M. Savage

Joan M. Savage, 83, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2013.
She was born in Akron and enjoyed decorating her home. She volunteered at Akron General Medical Center and at Akron City Hospital. She was a past president of the Akron Women's Club.
Mrs. Savage was preceded in death by her parents, Albert D. and Lucille (Leiter) Yeater; husband, Joseph Savage; brother, Richard Yeater; and sister, Betty Bachman. She is survived by her sons, Richard and Joseph D. Savage; daughters, Cathy and Caroline Savage; brother, David (JoAnn) Yeater; sisters, Nancy Garn, Rilla Yeater and Evelyn Shiffler; granddaughter, Corrie L. Strouse; and pet dog and companion, Max.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Very Rev. Fr. Nicholas Wyslutsky officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home where a Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Donations may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 S.
