Joan Loretta Davis

Joan Davis, 68, passed away January 8, 2016. Born on September 28, 1947 to the late William & Wima Watts, Joan was a lifetime area resident and a graduate of East High School. After serving in the US Army, Joan earned a BS in education from the University of Akron. She enjoyed working with disabled adults and children while volunteering in various agencies in town. She humbled us all with her amazing courage, strength, and faith while battling MS for 18 years. She leaves behind her dear husband Wesley Davis; sons William (Marcy) Burton of Kansas City & Christopher (Venus) Burton of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Fauve and Tristan Burton; sister Barbara (Ken) Klein of Titusville, FL, as well as a niece, great-nephews, and many cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 am, at Visitation of Mary Catholic Church (formerly Annunciation) 87 Broad St. Akron, OH 44305. Inurnment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Visitation of Mary or to the Ohio MS Society 6155 Rockside Road Suite 202 Independence, OH 44131.
