Jesse Wayne Mattson

In loving memory of Jesse Wayne Mattson, age 69, who went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2022 after losing his battle with lung cancer.

He was born in Alabama on March 19, 1953 and always thought of it as his second home. He also loved traveling to Florida. His pastimes were fishing, taking care of all animals, fireworks and making people laugh. He worked as a cabinet maker, owning Mattson Cabinets, for 30 years making custom furniture.

He leaves behind his loving sister Vicky (John) Stewart; his best friend of 60 years, Ron (Cathy) Cook; his children: Michelle (Eric) Gebler, Duane (Robin) Mattson, April Helton, Crystal Mattson and Jessica Mattson; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Darrell & Verbie; and great-grandson Jameson.

We would also like to thank his nurse, Jenny Schumacher, from VNA Hospice for the care she gave him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 24 from 5-7PM at the Anthony Funeral Home, McGowan-Reid and Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls where a memorial service will be held at 7PM, Pastor Jim Davis officiating.
