Jeff Dunn

Joseph Jeffrey "Jeff" Dunn, 71, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at his home.
Born in Akron on January 24, 1947 to the late Joseph & Arliene Dunn, Jeff was a lifelong area resident. Jeff served in the US Navy during Vietnam and he retired from the Akron Beacon Journal after 28 years in 1996. He went All-Conference in football and basketball while playing for Manchester High School and he continued his passion for sports, playing softball for 20 years, coaching for both CYO basketball and Walsh Jesuit's basketball team. Jeff also served as the athletic director for St. Paul Grade School. He was a longtime member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his sister Debbie Lee and brother Chip Dunn. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Pat; sons Chris (Michelle), Andy (Jordan) & Steve (Jackie); brothers Mike (Cindy) & Kevin (Theresa); grandchildren Eric, Ian, Ryan, Drew, AJ & Ashling; and many nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 19 from 4-7PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St in Akron, followed by interment at Ohio Western Reserve Nation Cemetery at 12:30. Additionally, a Celebration of Life will be held following the interment, starting at 2:00PM at the Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club, 4551 Dusty's Road, Akron 44319. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
