Jeannine Mortier, 85, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at the Village of St. Edward.
Jeannine was born December 19, 1929 to Edgard and Leonie (Martel) Tessier in Ottawa, Canada and had been an area resident since 1955. She was a former member Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her husband Dr. George Mortier in 1998; son Mark in 2005 and siblings Irene (Jerry) Copeland and Marcel Tessier; and is survived by her children Michael (Pamela) Mortier of Uniontown, Paul (Terry) Mortier of Grand Blanc, MI, David Mortier of Akron, Julie (Michael) Fallucco of Akron; daughter-in-law Rachel Brown; sister Claudette (Albert) Potvin; sister-in-law Mireille Tessier; grandchildren Christina (Brian) Stalder, Patrick (Nan), Matthew (Laura), Megan, Madeleine and Mitchell Mortier, Anthony, Lauren, Sylvia and Victoria Fallucco and Sarah and Andrew Mortier; great grandchild Hudson Stalder; many nieces and nephews.
Jeannine's love was her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a dear friend to many. She loved to travel, with her husband, to the West Coast, Europe and on cruises and spent quality time with her family in Orlando FL for many years. She enjoyed casinos, cards, dominoes and bingo.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2 to 6 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., Akron. Funeral services will begin Monday at 10:15am at the funeral home and continue at 11:00 amwith a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Ave, Akron, OH 44320.
