Jean I. Woodside passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, her 94th birthday.
She was born in Amsterdam , Ohio to the late Christopher and Cecelia Moffat. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Leroy, R J, and Earl James Moffat; sisters, Anna Lee Moffat and Gladys Harper. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, William C. Woodside; son, William (Cindy) Woodside; daughter, Sue Woodside; grandchildren, William (Erin) Woodside and Lisa (Mike) Eckenrode; great-grandchildren, Stephanie (Ryan), Michael, Emma, Sara, and Julia; great-great-granddaughter, Adylyn; dear sister and brother, Ruth Bomestar and Malcolm (Ruth) Moffat; best friend, Ann Cassell; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, at 12 noon at Firestone Park United Methodist Church, 250 N. Firestone Blvd., in Akron with Pastor Randy May officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Cremation has taken place. Private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity or Firestone Park United Methodist Church. (Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, Akron)
