Jean Ellen Kolnik

Jean Ellen Kolnik, 73, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 after a brief illness. Born in Akron August 10, 1944 to Steve and Lydia (Sabaka) Jean had been an Akron resident all her life and a devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Garfield High School and was employed and retired from GenCorp and Firestone Machine. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her brother Dan Kolnik. She is survived by her sister Joyce (Ron) Hoch, nephew and Godson Adam (Beth) Hoch and step-nephew Aaron Hoch and many dear cousins and friends. Jean enjoyed reading and yoga and spending time with her family and friends. Friends will be received Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 550 East Wilbeth Road, Akron, Ohio 44301, with services following at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
