Javier Omar Rivera, 19, passed away July 21, 2026.

Javier was born in Cleveland to his mother Arelis Ortiz. He grew up in Garfield Heights and moved to Akron in December of 2023. Javier graduated from Ohio Virtual Academy in 2025. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, playing video games, and going to the movies.

Javier is preceded in death by his grandfather, Agapito Ortiz. He is survived by his mother, Arelis; stepfather Ivan; sister Keila; grandmother Isabel; uncle Jovanny; uncle Christian; aunt Jessica; aunt Lorraine; aunt Rosario; cousin Jovanny Jr.; cousin Valerie; cousin Justin; cousin Mason; best friend Jack; many extended family members and friends.

Calling hours will be held Friday, July 31 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Anthony Funeral Homes- Akron Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. On Saturday, August 1, calling hours will again be held at the funeral home from 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
