Janis Ann Tregoning

Janis Ann Dekany Tregoning, 60, of Streetsboro passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015.
She was born in Akron on June 16th, 1954 to George and Milly Dekany. She was a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio. She graduated from Firestone High School in 1972 and went on to earn a bachelor of arts in music education from the Ohio State University and a masters of education in school counseling from Kent State University. She was passionate about education, marked by a 38 year career in music education, 29 of those years spent in Kent City Schools. She will always be remembered for her love of her family, friends, and students.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Dekany. She is survived by her mother, Milly Dekany; children, Erin (Eric) McClanahan and Patrick Tregoning all of Streetsboro; brothers, Kevin (Diane) Dekany of Akron and Jeff (Karen) Dekany of Williamsport, MD.; nieces, Alexis and Karina Dekany; uncle, Dennis Maneval of Green; and many extended relatives.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 South Main St. Akron, OH. 44301. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
