Janice Marie Taber (Engle), 94, passed away on March 11, 2023.  Born in Zanesville to the late Kenneth and Vera Engle, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Edwin R. Taber; and great grandson, Reed Compher.

Janiice was a graduate of Garfield High School and had attended Ohio State.  Before coming to Akron she had lived in Charles Town, WV and Hagerstown, MD.  She eventually retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber where she worked in Tire Distribution.  In her retirement she loved traveling, especially with her sister, reading, knitting and crocheting.

Her survivors include daughters, Debbie (Pat) Taylor  of Akron and Sandy (Mike) Bowman of Madison, ME;  grandchildren Alyssa Taylor, Patrick (Coleen) Taylor, and Tara (Todd) Compher; great grandchildren, Aidan, Rory, Dylan, and Maddox; and sister, Connie Grimes; as well as 8 nephews and their families.

Private graveside services will take place at a later date.

The family would like to recognize the staff of Falls Village, Skilled Nursing and Retirement as well as Southern Care Hospice for their professional and loving care.
